Mini DV copies from DVX100 to Slave

Hey guys,

In a bit of a pickle here. My client just asked me to duplicate some mini DV tapes that I shot for him. Problem is the guy can't afford to go through a dupe house.

He asked if I could do it, what I am wondering is if you place the DVX to slave mode to record to a cheap mini dv camcorder, could I set the DVX to vcr mode so I can dupe the tapes to the slave camera?

Not the ideal way to do it of course, but I can at least make a little extra for it.

Hello Felix,

Yes, you can dupllicate any mini dv tape by connecting your DVX to another mini dv camcorder.

The DVX gives you the option to use it as the ''recorder'' or as the ''player'' in that transfer and I guess every mini dv camcorder has the same ability as long as it has a dv in/out port.

Check the manuals for both the camcorders that u re going to connect for details...

However it would be better if you could use two cheap camcorders for that job, especially if you have many tapes to copy...dont waste the heads of a DVX for that purpose...

If you dont have two cheap camcorders you could just capture the footage of your tapes by your editing program and after export it back again to blank tapes...I know its double the time...but anyway its up to you...
