Mini DV Cassette Storage

Does a prerecorded mini DV cassette need to be rewound prior to camera removal / storage? I occasionally will use only a small portion of a cassette and need to continue shooting at a later time. Do I need to rewind the tape or just leave it as is and remove / store. I was told that leaving the tape can actually stretch it. I'd think stretching can happen eather way. I'd appreciate comments. Thanks

I have been told that if you rewind the tape it will break the time code. Finsh the tape then rewind it for a constant TC

You can pick up recording right where you left off very easily. Set the camera to VCR mode and press the END SEARCH button. It will seek automatically to the frame after you last stopped recording.

As for rewinding, I've always been told it's a good idea for tape storage. I do it. I have no tape problems. I have no hard evidence either way.
