My friends and I were down in Sihanoukville, Cambodia building helping to build a house for a poor family who were being evicted from their home.

I put together a brief video documenting the process.

Shot with DVX100A, 24pa mode. Edited on FCP. Three way Color Corrector only.

Music by Broken Social Scene.

please take a look and let me know what you think.

the vignette look is in. Feels more lowfi and "film like". Only photographers and filmmakers consciously see it.

Some good stuff here. Did you shoot in squeeze mode as well? And I'm wondering how you got the quality so good on vimeo. The stuff I shoot with my DVX and post on there doesn't look quite as decent.

The DVX footage was with stock lens. I use the FFmpegx encoder and I tinkered around with it for awhile. It works faster than compressor and in some cases does a better job i think. It works great for encoding to .flv too.
