How many stops do you loose with the Mini 35? I want to shoot at 1/120 or 1/250 Shutter speed but I am worried about how much light I will need. I am shooting in a blacked out space that I wll be able to control lighting completely The lighting is 98% overhead giving a very harsh strong light.

Well... let's see. A lot of it depends on what kind of lens you're using, and on what equivalent zoom setting you'd be using on the DVX.

For example: if the shot could be done on the DVX at 4.5mm, you could open up to f/1.6.

On the mini35, it first requires you to zoom in all the way to Z99, so the most you can open up is f/2.8. Then the ground glass eats up about a stop or two. Then it comes down to the lens you're using -- if you're using a T2.0 lens, that's two stops down from the theoretical maximum of f/1.0. If you're using SuperSpeeds at T1.3 or less, then you'd be less than one stop down.

So, add it all up, and figure that you're down anywhere from three to five stops, figure about 4 on average. Meaning you will need around 16x as much light to shoot with the mini35 than without.
