In addition to being an ad agency, we own an embroidery shop and do small runs of t-shirt prints, but we're getting out of the t-shirt printing business so we're selling our machine.

FOR SALE:
Mimaki GP-604D T-Shirt Printer.
It's this machine.

BRAND NEW COST: $25,000

SELLING FOR: $14,000 OBO, shipping not included.

Machine was well maintained and still works great, we just don't need it anymore. If you have any questions, PM or email me.

i have been looking at the brother t shirt printer. i don,t see it printing on dark /black . how many shirts have you done with it? cheaper than the brother ink? warranty? whats the cost of a full color photo print 10 x13 ?

When I get to work in the morning I'll get the answers for you. I work on the video production side, so I'll get with the girls in the embroidery/t-shirt shop to get you full details. As soon as I get the answers I'll PM you and post them here.

Thanks.

This printer has done about 1,000 shirts. The largest order that ran through it was for 500 t-shirts. After that it was small runs of 20 - 30. We primarily used it for quick turnaround on small orders where our margins were tight, so it hasn't been used for much. Most of our orders are large enough to warrant another company handling the printing.

I asked about whether this printer can print on dark/black t-shirts. The answer is, sort of. It doesn't print color to them, but it prints an ammonia solution that basically strips the color of the t-shirt in the pattern of your artwork. It's best for light colored t-shirts.

The cost of ink is $75 per color, and it takes 4 colors. We do have new ink cartridges for all 4 colors that will be included in the sale. In addition, we have the original frames it came with and a few we had custom made for smaller t-shirts (think kid's sizes).

I'm checking on the warranty, although we're a US company and I notice you're in Canada - if there is a warranty, I'm not sure what Mimaki's policy is on transferring it to another country. We'll have to check on that if you want to move forward with the purchase.

The printer is designed to sit on table - we have a stand it sits on. I'll get some pictures of it uploaded today. If you wanted the stand, we'll throw it in for the cost of shipping.

The printer does a require a heat press to set the ink. We aren't selling our heat press. It gets regular usage on the embroidery side so it won't be part of the sale.

Regarding the cost of printing a 10x13 4-color photo print - I don't know the answer to that, and we've never calculated the exact cost. I'm going to scan through the literature we have on it and the manual to see if I can find that answer. I was told, though, that the ink does "a lot" of t-shirts before it runs dry. I don't currently have a more exact number than that. If you want, I can PM you our pricing sheet to give you an idea of what we charge for t-shirt runs.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks.
