Yep, makes ya cool, alright.

Waste their lives? LOL

Your too funny, Pookie

I'd love to know what filmmakers and artists you like. I think you'd be shocked about how many people who were wasting their lives happen to accomplish creating some of the most influential artwork in history. Artwork that still enriches peoples live. You'd also be shocked to know how many people you have worked with in a professional arena are recreational smokers and you never knew. The statistics bear it out. Check it out for yourself, brother.

Anything abused is harmful. **** you can kill yourself from drinking too much water. Even if you see pot use as a societal disease, criminalization of the symptoms just perpetuates it. Compassion is the only thing that heals anything. On that note, I gotta go. Peace.

I only knew one person who use to look like that when they were stoned and he smoked hash.

What is that guy doin with that perrier bottle?

in the US courts, marijuana is considered a Schedule 1 drug. The three qualifications of a Schedule 1 drug are:
a.) has no proven medical purpose
b.) highly addictive
c.) danger to society

all three of these can easily describe alcohol. None of them apply to marijuana.

a- Marijuana can be used as a medicine to treat nausea, pain and muscle spasms. It alleviates symptoms of glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, migraines and other debilitating aliments. Thirty-five states have passed legislation permitting medical use of marijuana (Twelve Americans receive prescribed marijuana from the U.S. government).

b- Marijuana use is no more addictive than Kool-Aid. While Kool-Aid contains absolutely no addictive ingredients, if you drink it every day for thirty days, on that thirty-first day you will probably be dying for a glass of Kool-Aid

c- More than 400,000 Americans die from diseases related to cigarette
smoking each year. More than 150,000 Americans die of alcohol abuse
each year. But in 10,000 years of usage, no one has ever died from
marijuana.

More than 400,000 Americans are arrested each year on marijuana charges (your tax $$).

What artworks were created under the influence of pot? Just curious since that reason was mentioned a couple of times. I think it's a bullshit reason. I call bullshit.

Oral Sex being a crime is a crime in itself; this being a family site and all I thought I'd chime in on that one.

This Mary Jane issue is a complex one and there are a ton of passoinate thoughts on this subject. I think 'kids' and 'people' in general will smoke it if they want. It's not a secret and I am sure the majority of people on this board could get it fairly easily from someone who knows someone.

I do not want my son growing up and smoking it and this is an issue I am prepared to deal with; I have used other drugs as a wee skater boy and the thought of my son wasting his time and energy on that crap makes me nervous as I do speak from experience. I always was social in my use and experimentation but have seen first hand the dark side of drugs and the culture that 'generaly' encompassess it. I'll never lie to my son about my usage and I only hope to steer him in the right direction and educate him on the matter.

Alcohol is indeed a far more deadlier 'drug'. Cigarettes even worse; and I am a smoker (yes, I know I need to quit). Pot? Who cares? I'm not wanting it made blatantly legal but I could care less if people smoke it or grow it for their own use. I don't think there should be Cafe's for it like in Amsterdam but I also think it is a waste of time and energy busting people for it. I don't think it should be allowed to be sold but I do think it should just 'exist'. I guess I kind of subscribe to the decriminalization of the plant.

With it's medicinal merit and practical value regarding Hemp; just let it be.

Let it be. Whisper words of wisdom. (Damn, where would The Beatles, my desert island band, be in history if not for the drugs?)
