I don't smoke; when I was younger (a wee skater boy) I did the usual partying; but I can say with all honestly haveing Alcohol legal and Marijuana not is a mind-bender.

I can handle my alcohol; I'm the happy social butterfly type. But Alcohol regulary is addictive, turns people from Jeckle To Hyde and ensues violence.

Mariajuna does what? Empties the refridgerator? You ever see people smoked out on hop? They ain't worth a damn; no Jeckle and Hyde; just munchies and sleep.

Could leglaize it and tax the hell out of it? Never work. People will grow their own as they do now.

I don't know though' legalizing it for pleasure? Sigh.......... I don't know. I have a son. I don't want him smoking that ****. Wasting his brain cells away. Nothing really prodcutive comes from Pot. If anything is promotes 'wastedness' in the 'ZERO MOTIVATION' area.

Can't say I want it legalized no matter the facts. Then what? Cocaine? Crystal? Hash?

Weed is one of mans elixirs (and a natural one at that; but so is peyote) but making it legal is just another drug made available to children. And don't tell me 'The children will get it anyway." It's not as easy as walking down to 7-11 and grabbing a pack of sticks.

I dont know; pot is bad news. Nothing prodcutive comes from it.

I'm in the same place as John on this one. I don't think its extremely harmful, but I wouldn't want my nephew getting easy acess to it. He's right, I've come across smokers (weed is Alaska's drug of choice) who just don't care anymore. About anything.

Their totally unmotivated and become a lump of wasted space. But they are fun to talk to. :)

I personally hate the stuff. I used to smoke it when I was younger like...2 years ago. The part that pisses me off is all the research for marijuana was back in the reefer madness days. Some say it doesn't even kill brain cells. I just hate seeing all these people going to prison over a plant.

Whatever...The protest should be fun. I'm bringing my DVX so i'll post some grabs and clips.

I cant be sure it kills brain cells; but damn if those stoners arent a bunch of dumbasses. And I agree; seems weird to prosecute peoplw over a natural plant. Perhaps it should just be 'Left alone...'

Like Steroids and illegal drugs in professional sports. Still illegal; but why run around and waste tax dollars trying to stop it?

Everybody is going to get stoned and forget what day the march is on.

Marijuana doesn't kill brain cells, but it does effect your short term memory. This is because the cerebellum (correct me if that's not the correct body part) sits right next to the main THC receptors in your brain. And they get all criss crossed and screwed up.

I don't smoke, never have; but most (well, all) of my friends do. I can say that I think it's completely rediculous to be illegal. Though I live in California, so I have friends that have prescriptions for it.

Side note, my initials are TCH, so if I ever get them engraved in anything, the put the H in the middle, and bigger than the other two letters.

...and my parents used to claim that they didn't smoke.

The answer is NOT to legalize another drug. You said it yourself, 105,000 people a year die from alcohol, and even more from smoking. "Legalize pot!" What kind of logic would that be??!! We haven't even proven we're responsible with alcohol, tobacco, or even "lawn darts" (remember those things?) yet. Unfortunately, we're a society raised on laws. Only when people are educated can laws begin to be removed. You don't release the flood gates just because you want some water. (Selfish?) Education. Education. Education. It takes generations for society to truly change and be educated about certain issues. Be patient, not greedy. "A true visionary plants the seed for a tree which he will never enjoy the comforts of its shade." Think about the big picture, not just "Wouldn't it be cool..."

Also, I'm tired of this "It's just a plant!" lame-ass excuse. Some of the most deadliest things on the planet are "just plants." I've got some poison ivy you can rub on yourself; it s got an awesome reaction. Or why don't you eat some of these berries I just picked? Or smoke this tobacco? Nature hasn't always created things that are good for you. "It's just a plant." is total crap and won't get your cause legalized. You need to prove how society will benefit. And the fact is, it won't benefit. There is always going to be a minority percentage who abuse it and create problems for the rest of us. The idiots and abusers are the people you should be reaching out to. Educate them (and their children) FIRST then you might make some progress in your cause. Where do you find the idiots and abusers? Well, there might be a few in Washington on May 7th. :)

Lastly, we American's are lazy and fat enough. We don't need more people staying inside and getting high. We need to get out an exercise, make movies, and eat healthier food, not more snacks! :)

The Monk (I get high on DVXuser)

WOW, all very good points PK...

I mean, stop being such a buzz kill!

If it were legal the THC could be extracted then put into a pill. It is just a plant. Other plants may be poisonous and deadly but marijuana isn't. The government calls marijuana TD which stands for "truth drug". Marijuana brings out the truth in people. Honesty. society could use a little more honesty. Instead of waking up and drinking coffee they'll smoke a fattie and be honest instead of wirey and hyper. Instead of filling the prisons up with plant sellers they could make room for murderers and rapists.

We laugh at the propaganda movie "Reefer Madness" now but in the 1930's this is what they had people believing.

Yeah, the anti-plant argument isn't working. It isn't a plant that will kil you or give you a rash. It will make you eat more Chips and Salsa though.

Take a good look at the "stoners".

Do you honestly believe they'd be much different without the pot?

Dan

John just starts talking about chips and salsa, or carne and corona; and now I'm hungry.

Damn you John, and your delicious Mexican treats.

No, the answer is to just erase the laws that were put into place for ridiculous reasons.

Maybe that will free up the time, personnel, and money needed for more important things.

Or do you think it's reasonable for your house to be confiscated and you thrown in jail because a bird crapped in your back yard after swallowing a cannabis seed?
