I ordered a Miller Solo DV CF system with the DS-20 head last week, which should be arriving shortly. I currently have a DVX, will be upgrading to at least an HVX, and am considering jumping directly to an HPX500. I'm sure the 500 will be fine with this head, but I'm wondering if I jumped the gun a bit when it comes to the lighter DVX/HVX. Don't really know what I was thinking--B&H didn't really talk me out of it, I guess. The head's rated for 10-20 lbs, which might be too much for the lighter cams.
Obviously, I'll be testing this, but I have a feeling I've mismatched the camera and the head. Does anyone have any experience with this head and a stock or lightly-accessoried DVX/HVX? Or should I return it as soon as I get it and go for the DS-10 (5-10 lbs) combo? I know I'll love the sticks--they're perfect for my purposes. It's just the head that worries me a little...
