3.) Nikon 400mm 3.5 AIS - The exterior of the lens (lens body) shows signs of wear. There are multiple areas of paint loss, but ZERO deep gouges or scratches. The front element does have multiple marks on the exterior, but the sole purpose for the front element is protection. Nikon designed the lens without this huge hunk of glass being part of the equation. I have eye-witness testimony that this glass will perform perfectly fine with a silver-dollar sized chunk out of the front. There is a small amount of dust inside, but nothing to worry about. The rear mount does show some brassing, but is nice and solid on my D700. The apeture clicks smooth and free. The focus ring has a great feel, and a can be rotated lock to lock with a pinky. Also included is a lens hood extension from a Nikkor 500 f/4. This is just what the doctor ordered on those sunny days.
