Milk, anyone?

Shot for my one studio class. Filmed in 10 minutes using natural sunlight. Edited in a half hour using Vegas Video 5.0. Along with original color grading, this version has two MB plugins attached to it, SkyGrad and War Epic Light.

Let me know what you think. I know I could have done a lot more to really make it... dance.

Re: Milk, anyone?

Honestly, I think here's way too much of the same shot going on to where I was about to close the file and I didn't get the point of using the frame at the end unless it was just token effect.

Also, the "shine" effect at the end was overdone to the point that unless you knew the word already, it would have been completely unreadable.

Sorry to be harsh.

Re: Milk, anyone?

A lot of the stuff you see in the piece was purely for editing and effects testing purposes. I was trying to see if I could make a stationary object "move" without really moving. I guess I didn't really succeed, but I came off with some interesting shots (I especially like the over heads). You're absolutely right, the flashing and the lighting effects are way too much... but I can't do anything about that anymore because I deleted the vegas file and all the imported video....

I really just wanted to finally post something on this board since I really haven't. My other posts just got lost and stuff.

Disjecta, thanks for the feedback. I admire your talent so much you could tell me everything I ever made and will ever make will be crap... and I'd nod my head and still smile in awe. Lol. j/k

But I won't because I think you have talent. Just keep doing it.
:D

Well, I will . . . it's C R A P

just kidding - I agreed with D-Man's assessment, but can also see you have talent. There were some interesting shots in there. Keep shooting. Keep editing. And keep posting so we can see your progress.

Good Luck

Re: Milk, anyone?

First rule of showbiz- never work with animals, children, or milk. What's wrong with orange juice or mountain dew? At least you'd get to play with some color.

Well then I'm screwed. Huh, haven't worked with milk yet but thanks for the heads up

Re: Milk, anyone?

whatever the music was hilarious, i just thought it was funny. i felt for a moment the milk was kind of dancing, but then i came to my senses.

milk does not dance!

about a year ago when i had my schools vx1000 for half a day we decided to shoot a random no-plot short with milk because it was the first 3-ccd camera we could get our hands on. Check out this childish derrogitory terrible film: http://astrosecretfilms.com/notmilk.html

(that guy is not me!)

Re: Milk, anyone?

i think its "never work with animals children or boats... in milk" so as long as theres nothing foating in th milk hes all good.

...the project was interesting. hard to say much more as it was a lot of shots of a glass of milk. ;)
