MIKE DAWSON: Marketplace transaction

I'm leaving this thread here because I do think it's helpful--from many angles. I have changed the thread title to something a little less incendiary. As always it's up to buyers to thouroghly check out sellers while sellers should ship promptly after receiving payment, and both should communicate clearly to prevent misunderstandings.
 
I live in canada as well.. i had no shipping problems.. just merhandise and communication problems with the individual
 
I'd like to know what was the postmark on the package? Within a few days of the sale or a lot later?

I bought something from Australia and it took the guy three weeks to send it and only about 4 days to actually get here, he told me it must be held up in customs, but I could clearly see when he had filled out the forms and when the postal worker had stamped/initialed them.... But I was okay with it because each time I messaged him he replied....


I think 3 weeks IS a long time to wait, BUT if there is good communication (yes we have outside lives..) that is more than enough.

For example rather than not hearing anything for two weeks, I would be happy with; "hey im really busy right now, I'm sorry but it wont go out for another week, to make it up to you I will include a picture of my dog and a half eaten oreo(no frosting)":thumbup:
 
Communication is key; otherwise you have no idea if you have been scammed.

If you are selling an item it is assumed you want to get rid of it. People make an offer because they need/want it. There is no excuse for an item to take so long to ship with no communication. AND he still didn't get everything he paid for- I know I am making a note never to buy from him.
 
2 days before you started this thread blasting him... in either case. i think this should be taken down becuase it's ruined ones rep as a seller.
 
search his name.. this isnt the first time... i think the point of this thread IS to make people think twice about dealing with him
 
i've delt with him twice... look the guy does services make adaptors sells other equipment and eveyone gets what they want... i think you should cut a guy some slack.

i didnt get what i wanted.. when u sell something you should send what you promised to send... oh well.. make up your own mind on it
 
If the item was postmarked on the 19th, that's about two weeks after the transaction was conducted. Logan posted his complaint on the 21st, saying it had been more than two weeks since he made the deal and sent the funds.

As this transaction was apparently made via PayPal, the funds should have cleared almost immediately unless PayPal had to retrieve the funds from the user's bank account and it wasn't a straight fund transfer. At worst it should have taken a few days for the funds to clear and the item could have been safely sent at that point.

Still, based on the first messages in this thread, it sounds like the seller wasn't providing sraight answers regarding shipment for more than two weeks. Logan wanted to know if the item was shipped and Mike couldn't provide a clear response or any useful tracking information.

This kind of behavior, especially if it's not the first time, would raise a red flag for me.

Wow, all I wanted was proof that it was shipped? Am I supposed to have to hold someone's hand to make sure they ship what I already paid for? If he would have said, "Hey, I'm busy, but I can ship it later" I'd have said "fine" and left it at that. He didn't say ANYTHING but avoided giving the tracking number or proof like THE PLAGUE. I paid and 9 days later it wasn't even shipped? So I'm the bad guy?

BLOW ME SPIDEY...Blow me.
