Middle zoom speed not working!

Ok, so I just ordered my DVX-100B and received it on the 2nd. I was testing everything out (as every new camcorder user should), and for some reason, when I zoom with the handle on #2, it doesn't zoom! I might be a complete idiot and there is probably a little thing I need to press and it will work, but I am starting to freak out. The #1 and #3 speeds work fine! What should I do? :shocked:
