Microsoft DV AVI vs Microsoft AVI

I exported the second show, for the TV series im editing, last night and the the 30 minute AVI came out to 52gb.....so knowing now that I had selected the Microsoft AVI vs the DV AVI, I was wondering what other differences there are in the two. Seems like an awefully big file since DV is 12gb/hr....

I am also confused with exporting finished work as a file. All I want is a file version of my edited video that is the same quality and size of a video that i would capture from the camera. Normally when I export a 3 minute video as a uncompressed avi, the file size is gigantic, but it has full quality i believe. The only other way I have exported is with NTSC DV compression, and the picture doesnt look so great.

I doubt this has to do with what you are asking, but I am curious to know what you export as when you want full quality of the video with minimum file size

FUll quality and trying to get a minimun file size doesnt go hand in hand. The Microsoft DV AVI Uncompressed is what i usually export at. And when I export to DVD you cant tell.
