I just got a dvx100b and i absolutely love it. I'm addicted to squeeze mode...

I need a suitable mic that I could mount and possible boom if need be, though i don't know if mics can be suitable for both like that. Any good packages out there or recommendations would be great.

Rode ntg2 with boompole, fuzzy, shockmount, xlr cables (short and long)

i bought my package there. a number of us here use the ntg2 cuz its proven to be very good and a reasonable price. If u cant spring for the package u can buy the stuff separate. I think the mic alone is $270. U will need a good shock mount and xlr cables

thanks dude.....that is killer. I wasn't looking to spend that much but i think i may just have to now. I don't need xlr cables though, but extras wouldn't kill me. but thanks.

I will be able to mount that one on my dvx, correct? And what about just the normal black foam screen? Does it come with it, or would i have to get that separate?

Yeh u can mount it to the mic holder on the dvx, even though the fit is a bit wierd...kinda loose and not really to my liking. So get the shockmount cuz these mics are sensitive to bounces, hits, movement and a good shockmount will help u there. The shockmount will fit on the hotshoe(front end of the handle ) just fine. Then ur good to go.

Keep in mind however that even though it may pick up ok to even decent sound from atop the camera this is a shotgun mic, and works best as close as possible to the subject. ( Well that goes for every mic) so don't be dissappointed if it doesn't pic up well when ur subect is 10 feet off( even though this mic had amazed me along with others here.
