microMattebox Photos

Hey guys,
Brian and the team over at Redrock micro are releasing the microMattebox! I looks pretty snazzy and I can't wait to look at it at NAB! The wait is over my friends! See the pictures of the 15mm (Blue Screws) and the 19mm (Red Screws - aka targetted at RED users). Any thoughts? - JRS

SEE PICTURES in proceeding post!

The prices are somewhere on the Redrockmicro forums. I'll try to find em tonight. It was around the $500 range for the base price!

You guys have absolutely NO idea how kick ass this mattebox is. I mean, you look at it and go "Damn that's nice".

I got to see it in person today... Talk about getting something for nothing. My Gahd.

i just hope it will be available sometimes by 2025. This product was delayed for sooo long that it wasnt even funny anymore.

It's ready to be released and the first fifty will be going out in just a few weeks here with the rest to follow.

The RED ONE pics were taken today with RED #81, quick snap shots that turned out fantastic, obviously.

The wait for the unit has been well worth it.

Hmmm...the blue thumbscrews seem to be a kick in the teeth to Arri's MB that costs 6X as much. Looks pretty sharp...I hope they keep up with their 'promised' shipping deadlines.

You also get to choose between Red, Blue, and Black thumbscrews for anyone worried.

=) I don't care how BLING it is. The Red looks ultra hot in real life!

Well, we can start placing orders today, but there is up to a 40 BUSINESS DAY lead time. Yikes - that's 8 weeks! At least it's available for purchase now though.

I expect to see a bunch of pics from you guys in Vegas shortly. I'll need them to help me choose which color thumbscrews :)

I think it was well worth the wait and extra delays for additional improvements. You're right Kholi it turned out AWESOME, and I haven't even seen it 'live' yet! I have one on order and can't wait to get my hands all over it! :love4:

From memory:
- The regular mattebox (15mm rod sys), without the flags is 595$ (color screws blue/red/black)
- The regular mattebox (15mm rodsys), with french- & side flags is 695$ (color screws blue/red/black)
- The mattebox for the RED One (19mm rod sys), with french- & side flags is 795$ (color screws blue/red/black)

Redrock does not disappoint. I'm sure they've been watchin' the market for 35mm ADapters as well, I count on them releasing a killer 35mm Adapter upgrade to their product line soon.

The mattebox is indeed the new grail of matteboxes, meeting at the perfect junction of price and performance.
