So sadly I think my nebula broke. It turns on but the motors dont work at all. the lights turn on but thats it, going to take it apart and see if one of the wires ripped. If so not sure what I will do as my main complaint with the nebulaa was how fragile it felt, guess ill be looking into something that can take at least a little bit more abuse, any suggestions?

UPDATE: I took the nebula apart so I could see the boards in it along with the wires and everthing was fine. turned it on and the motors were back to working so it seems a wire just got pinched and stopped it from working till i rearranged everything.

Hello. Did your gimbal OK now? You could contact our after-sales staff. Email: support@filmpower.com

I've been checking out the Came TV Single and liking it a lot. one question i have if anyone here would know the answer too...

it seems that you can program how fast or slow the the pans or tilts would be for the "finger/joystick". i got that from one of the reviews i watched but can someone tell me if you can program a "ramp-speed" as well for "ease in / ease out so its not so abrupt?

thanks
david

Been loving the Nebula but had a question, does anyone know if the Sony A7R II will work and with what lens combinations? Work is looking into a B cam and its between the A7RII and GH4 right now but I prefer the camera to work on the nebula (that way I won't have to carry around the ronin on some shoots). And what lenses do you recommend for the a7rII for the nebula? I already have the 16-50mm so I could use that to cut down on weight and size if I shoot in crop mode I believe.

The a7R II should work, but you do need to use a very light lens. I don't know about the 16-50, but my sigma 19mm f/2.8 lens should work (it's only for APS-C, but on the a7R II that's not a problem at all) (I used it on the N4000 with the a7S and a quick release, which not only added weight but also made the camera a lot taller; most of the wide shots on this piece were shot with that combo).

Hm alright, yeah I would like to have at least a wide and a medium lens (50mm) that would work on the nebula with the A7RII. Also sonys 28mm F2.8 would be a nice lens to work on that combo.

Then consider also the Sigma 30mm f/2.8, which is the other lens I used for that piece I linked. Just as nice, cheap and light as the 19mm. (That fan film is approximately 10% 24mm-with-speedbooster, 40% 19mm f/2.8, 15% 30mm f/2.8, 35% 50mm f/1.4)

so the battery on my came single stopped charging. the battery indicator light is constantly on red and it refuses to turn on. haven't contacted came tv yet, but is there customer support also pretty bad? i'm hearing nothing but bad things about all these gimbal company's customer support. it's been a little less than six months since i received it, what are my options?

just an update, if anyone cares. seems it was an issue with the battery going into safety mode if you leave it charging for too long, or something like that. came-tv customer support was very prompt and helpful.

came optimus announced at nab. converts between one handle and two handles, can go to inverted mode without switching the gimbal on or off, full 360 degree rotation without worrying about wires twisting. interesting to see how it compares to the pilotfly h2.
