Micro Gimbal for GH4, BMPCC, A7s - $699 USD

Yesterday their home page still didn't show the link to this product, now it's there. Consider it as "still launching". Though for me in Spain it does offer an option of "free shipping" :)

They've filled out that webpage quite a bit since yesterday.

They have links to like 5 or 6 different youtube videos now as well as some specifications

This thing looks awesome

The example only shows a linear movement and forward movement only while standing still. I would need to see some walking shots first before I would consider a purchase

Already videos like that out there. What was wrong with the video Joe posted on the first page? Plenty of walking around videos out there with this device.

Well I managed to order one. Will fly the A7s, Gh4 and the LX100 with it. As for monitoring, I will use wi-fi on the lumix models and figure out where to mount or hold it. I'll report back how this thing works out once I get it and shoot some footy. I also have the Dji Ronin so it will be interesting to see how this little device stacks up.

^ Please tell. I really, really want to hear your thoughts about this thing.

(though I made good progress with my DIY setup yesterday; but for me a bit smaller is a lot better, so still interested)

I wonder if you can mount it the other way, so you can flip out the swivel screens on GH cameras?

I've been talking to Chdntech and they are going to send me a demo for review for my blog eriknaso.com, but it wont be until December. Oh well. Looks like DustyLense will get his before I do. Looking forward to seeing some footy!

I in particular would like to know if this could ever be mounted to a shoulder rig. For example remove the little handle and attach the main unit to a shoulder mount. Or if perhaps the bottom of the handle has threaded holes to at least attach it that way. I understand the main intention is to handhold this beast but sometimes it is nice to use a monopod or shoulder mount to help reduce fatigue. I couldn't imagine using this with a GH4 handheld for four hours.

It would be really cool if this could be used handheld and then attach a quick release plate to the bootom and quickly move it to a shoulder rig when needed.

Why wouldn't you just use the screen on the camera itself for monitoring? I wonder if attaching an HDMI cable to the gimbal while operating it would throw off the balance?

Looking forward to hearing your report

I don't think the handle is removable as it contains the battery and on/off switch.

I'm holding off ordering until one of you lot in the US have got one in hand... :)

Would be nice if it hand some threaded holes in the bottom of the handle then to attach to a should rig or monopod.

Thanks for the video link, hantanbl. The setup was decipherable, except I will have to watch the steps when he laid it on top of the pliers again, not sure exactly what the procedure was there.
