Micro four thirds lens corrections on AF100?

Hi,

Panasonic micro four thirds stills cameras automatically apply digital corrections for chromatic aberration, geometric distortion and (maybe?) vignetting on the fly, in camera. I believe this is a significant ingredient in extracting the best performance from these lenses (actually, my Hasselblad H3DII does something similar in post processing with Hasselblad Phocus software- so it is a highly reputable technique! ;-)

Does anyone know if the AF100 implements the lens corrections from micro four thirds lenses when shooting video? I don't know if the CA will be any sort of issue given the relatively low readout resolution and the opitcal low pass filter, but the distortion correction certainly sounds like a desirable feature...

Cheers, Hywel.

This is one of the best features of the Panasonic m4/3 camera line. I love how great it makes the 14-140 look at all focal lengths.

It makes me hope one day camera bodies come with reference charts that you shoot, and from that data can build lens profiles to correct lens errors with the software built in the camera.
