I'm thinking of getting either a GH3 or a GX7. Before I purchase either camera i would love some lens suggestions. I would most likely be interviewing people sitting with 3 point lighting.

I would purchase an app like pCAM for your smart phone.

You can enter all your data, like how far away you are from the person you are interviewing, f stop, camera, lens focal length, so forth and so on.

That way you will know in advance which focal length lens you will need to get the shot you have in mind, rather then someone on the internet suggesting a lens without knowing important information you are not providing here.

All the best!

Let me rephrase that. If your camera is 6 feet away and you are shooting a medium shot interview and the wall is at least two feet behind you, and you like a shallow depth of field look, then check out this lens. I hope this helps :)

If you are a one man crew and interviewer, and just want to set the camera and forget it, you'd probably be fine with a zoom like the lumix 12-35 2.8, or the 35-100mm. Going too shallow with the depth of field without someone pulling focus is difficult even on a sit down interview. If the subject moves an inch or two, he's out of focus.
