Mickey's Revenge (Disney's gonna sue me)

So for my Philosophy of Modern art class, we have a section on the study of Disney, yay :). Anyways, our final project for this section entailed taking a disney liscened item or visual and changinging it to prove a point. I decided to touch on the Mirimax/Disney relationship and what would happen if Disney decided to allow Mirimax to used their characters in action films.

So here is the final project, shot it last night. Still have some things to fix, like the mickey head. enjoy. . .

By the way, the music is not mine, lots of copyright infringement, so please do not link to this from other sites. Much appreciated.

not bad. I liked the look. The text over the last shot (the title over mickey's face) was harder to read than the rest.

What did you do for cc?

Cute idea. Nothing to sue over that I saw here (other than the music), other than the use of their logo/name at the end. Mickey isn't copywritten (you didn't say Mickey Mouse's Revenge), and we never saw the face, just some round orbs at the top of the head.

As your unofficial attorney, I give you the greenlight to make this into a full fledged feature. You can send me the check in the mail!

I read an article a while back about the producers of adult films who were stupid enough to shoot an orgy scene with all the participants wearing MM ears. Disney put the slap down on them but good.!

Thanks Envision, I appreciate the support. To answer the other questions, no, it's not a real film, but could be pretty interesting as one :). There wasn't a whole lot of color correction done, most of it was in camera, I desaturated the blues a little bit, and darkened a few scenes which the quicktime encoder then lightened up again :(, but other than that it is straight out of the camera. The editing was done in vegas, for those who care.
Did anyone notice the crappy motion tracking on his head at the end? Does it bug anyone. It was tracked by hand using vegas, in about an hour. Since this is only a class project, I'm not too concerned but I wasn't sure if I was the only one seeing it, or if others saw it as well.

Mickey should say something... that falsetto Mickey voice would be funny after such a dark and threatening sequence of footage.

Motion tracking?? What are you referring to, because I didn't see anything. Didn't know you were a Vegas user, Scharky! Welcome to the light! :)

well, if you didn't notice it, then I'm not going to say anything. It drives me nuts every time I see it, but I guess it's becasue I know it's there. Yeah, I have been using vegas since V. 4.0. can't live without it.

I thought the ears were pretty good, Scharky - I didn't notice on the first viewing, only the second run though

Thanks Monte, the ears were'nt actualy the composite though. I had the Mickey mouse ears, it's just that the actors ears showed as well, so I placed an oval over his face to make it more "mouse" like and get rid of his ears, but I think that is what you were talking about.

What? You just put black over his ears? Everything else was normal? It looked like a black bubble attached to his whole head - and up to the mickey's ears?

Wow, I must be on crack cus I can't type coherent statements:

The ears (the mickey ones) also looked partially fake to me for some reason, they jiggled around at certain spots... but like you said they seem to be real (hence the light on the right ear) anywho, the bottom line is that it isnt noticable...

best wishes

Looks good.

I didn't notice the oval until you mentioned it.
So I went back to see what you were talking about and now I can't help but notice it everytime.

Yeah, that's that bad thing about saying something, but at least I can use you guys as my guinee pigs, that's what's nice about the forum, so I definatly won't say anything to the class about it. At least that pretty much answered my question.

Dude

Oh my god,
I loved it! I always thought Mickey was a little "too" happy all the time.
I really liked the way you pulled away at the end. Really nice touch. The music, Tuvan throat singing? It sounds like Tuvan throat singing.

im never opening my drawer again, clowns are creepy, and i dont want to know what they have done to my socks. Didnt notice the ears by the way, and the trailer looked great!

Pretty nice :) How did you shoot the shot where the camera moves down his body toward the end (right after it says "Revenge")? That looked great.

I t was kinda cool I didn't notice any problems until you said it. But I agree that a Mickey voice saying something like: "(Mickey Laugh) I'm Back Bitches" would put it over the top. I swear I can do the voice but unfortunately you can't hear it over the internet.
