Mic to Mount...

I just got in our shop a SENNHEISER MKE 300 Directional Microphone. The connector is a 3.5 mm jack plug, mono. Is there any way I can hook this to the DVX cause I dont see the input for it anywhere.
 
You'll have to get some connectors to go up to XLR. I've never seen a Mini-to-XLR but one may exist. If not then you'll probably have to go Mini-to-1/4 Inch-to-XLR which will work but will be hanging out of the camera 4 to 6 inches.
 
Yeah that kinda sucks huh? Well I can get Mini to 1/4 to XLR and get an extension and go like that so I dont have a bulge on the side of the camera then. Thanks for your help!
 
Dunno how well this'd suit your need, but mini-to-XLR is readily available from B&H. As short as 3-ft. cable length for $8.99. If you're thinking of a straight-ahead adapter, I'll confess I'm as stumped as anybody on that.
 
Cut off the mini and fit an XLR

Obviously the mic does not need phantom power if it uses a mini plug.

Maybe it is the wrong choice of mic ?
