On the right side, there are three phono cabels. Under, it reads: Audio in/out. I was just wondering if it's possible to connect a microphone here through a phono-minijack cable? Or are the only connection alternatives through the xlrs?

Welcome! Are you talking about the RCA (Yellow-Video, Red and White-Audio) jacks? First off, a minijack is totally different and isn't made to go in there. Even if you had a RCA connector, as I understand it, you can't plug in a microphone to these to record live sound because while the camera is in Camera Mode, these jacks are outputs. When in VCR mode, the jacks can be set to inputs (usually in order to record from another camera/source). You may be able to record sound from a microphone like this, but I don't know why you'd want to and I'd think it would sound like ****, if it worked at all.
