Mic replacement

i just bought a DVX100b for dirt cheap with only 44 hours, the reason i got it for so cheap was that the mic had been broken off but i use to film skateboarding so wasnt to concerned with it since it came with external mic that works just fine. now hear is my issue, i have now purchased a LED light but with only 1 shoe mount i cant use both(the external mic is rectangular at mount point so the holder doesnt work) so i bought 2 DVX100a for parts off ebay without thinking about whether or not they were interchangable, and they dont appear to be... so my question is, can it be swapped? FYI this is my first camera ive ever purchased so i dont know hardly anything about cameras at all. but i am mechanically inclined and had no issues removing the mic from the dvx100a but since the ports for the ribbons are visable on my dvx100b i can see that they are not the same. did i just waste my money buying to broken cameras? are there any other parts that are interchangable?
 
I'm not sure what exactly the question is, but there are shoe adapters (dozens of them) that can hold multiple accessories.

Here is a basic one that has three, but there are other ones at different heights and angles, or entire long bars where you can put as many items as you can fit (and you can slide them), etc. etc.

And there are all kinds of adapters and bits and pieces that you can use on cameras to adapt all kinds of accessories to them.

(The mic holder that comes with the camera is fine and an industry-standard on those kind of cameras, but you don't need to use it.)

Why not just use the screw in mic holder and use a mini shotgun XLR mic? It won't use your cold/hot shoe, and then you can mount your light.

The other thing is, those two screw holes on the top handle's side, where the mic holder goes, are pretty common screws. You can go to a store and try out the screws till you find one that works, and then you can bolt on any sort of holder you want, and still have the cold shoe free for your light or whatever. And if you can 3D print, then you are really ahead of the curve.

You know what kind of sound you are looking for?

If you use a fisheye or wide angle lens adapter, an OMNI mic can be a good choice, since you can get close to people without proximity effect.

If you use the stock lens, with no lens adapter, and shoot semi close to people, a Cardioid or Super Cardioid would be my choice.

If you like to stay farther than 6ft from your subjects on average, than a shotgun type mic could be good.
