Miami Vice trailer ..

I like Mann's previous stuff, but the MV trailer didn't impressed me.

Watched the 720p one and it looked very grainy.

Mann's shooting with the same camera as he did on Collateral.

Collateral was grainy in parts and still looked incredible.

Yeah, it did. I just am a fan of Foxx... and I like mann's stories

Meh, looks like a better than average action flick. I love Mann and Foxx, I'll be there when it opens.

I'm diggin this double time. I'm gonna have to quit my job to watch it the first day it comes out.

man, i just watched the trailer again, it looks awesome, and you KNOW that the camera is being pushed as far as it can to GET that raw grain look for sure

That footage was cool. I'm diggin' the colour palette Mann's using and except for Jamie Foxx, I think the cast rocks.

And apparently this will be an "R", so looks like Mann will not be pandering to the PG crowd...

Cheers.

Maybe I just got a little too into the show in my youth (just for the record I never wore a pink shirt - white sport coat combination), but I'm just not seeing Collin Farrel as Crockett.

Otherwise, film looks great.

You have right Collateral was sometimes noisy but it was some of the best
movies i ever seen.
It was shot with te THOMSON VIPER HD CAMERA

They shot Collateral on Viper, Sony F900 and film.
The DP wrote an article about it and he wasn't really happy with the HD cameras.

The DP you refer to must be Paul Cameron? He was replaced several weeks into the shoot for 'creative differences'. Meanwhile, Dion Bebe steps in and gives us these nominations for cinematography (... ASC Award, LAFCA Award, OFCS Award and wins the a BAFTA Film Award...)

Such unpleasant results they end up collaborating digitally again on Vice.

That trailer's an adrenaline rush. Great stuff.

The song works perfectly, and that shot of a still, focused Foxx in a sea movement is very cool.

The heavy grain - isn't this just a result of upping the gain for low light shooting?

i agree with you about Farrel... a huge miscast if you ask me... i don't see him as Crockett at all!

i don't know if i'm going to see the film... they should have kept it in the 80's and i really don't like Farrel in the role...

if i get a free ticket MAYBE i'll see it...
