does anyone have a proven method? Clipwrap should do it, but it isn't clear to me what other software i need on my machine to support it.

i have a client who won't rent my camera unless i provide footage in the house flavor.

wondering if i could do this in Premiere Pro, but not sure how to go about it. if i import XDCam footage into a DVCPROHD project it doesn't show DVCPRO output as an export option.

I've just quickly tried this and it seems to work (using CS6, what version are you on?) - put the XDCAM footage into a native timeline, then select File-Export-Media

The Export Settings pop-up should open, and on top right you should see a box next to "Format".

Choose "P2 movie" from the options.

Then look at the line below, labelled "Preset", and open the drop down - you should get a choice which includes DVCProHD and 720 or 1080 at various framerates.

Finally, check the settings in the "Video" tab, in the lower right third. Most of the options should be greyed out, but check the "Frame Rate" drop down is the frame rate you expect.

But I find it easier to start a new sequence and choose it to be "DVCProHD" with the resolution and framerate desired. Then drag the XDCAM clip into it, and in the first instance select to "keep existing settings". You may find the clip then looks mis-sized in the right hand window (in my case, I was dragging XDCAM 720 into a DVCProHD 1080i timeline) - in which case right-click on the clip and select "Scale to frame size".

After that, it's similar to before :

select File-Export-Media

The Export Settings pop-up should open, and on top right just tick the box "Match Sequence Settings"

Does that work?
