Metal Metal Metal Music Video!!!!!!

Hi,Idog
You said that you shot this in 24p,how did you get the video of them in the room with all the windows so sharp and bright(almost HD like)?

John Hudson & Mortimer: Its really funny how you guys both said I do something less formulated. I have been feeling that way about my work lately. I feel it is getting stale. My next video (which I am desperately trying to get a good budget from the label as we speak) I plan on doing something very different. Very different. I want to tell you guys my idea but I feel that I can't desribe it nearly as well as just seeing it. Plus I don't want someone to rip my idea. HAHA. I guess I will just show you when it is filmed. But anyway, thanks so much for your comments. This is the only place I post about my work because I feel that this is the only place that people really watch your work. Thanks again guys.

I hope you take it as a compliment; becasue my specific point is "You have mastered the technical; now it's time to be creative and express yourself"

I'm still working onthe technical.

I bet the next you do is phenomenal.

Very cool.

That drummer kicked some serious ass. Your shots were very well placed and the pacing of your edits matched the tempo perfectly.

If I may ask what was your budget on this video and did your crew consist of only 3 people including yourself?

Bonesandchicken - I shot it 1/250 shutter and really tried to work the blacks as much as possible in post. When you really get your blacks nice and black it helps a lot with the sharpness.
John Hudson - No, not at all. I took it as comments as compiments. But I do think I have done some creative things. And,Yes the band just rockin out is kind of formulated but if you saw how this band was acting on every take you would think that my editing was genious. It was like polishing a turd. They were so stiff it was imbarrassing.

ProjX v2.0 - My budget was $2500 on this. My crew was 3 people plus myself. The budget just covered my discounted rentals, crew payment, food and location fee. That was the last video I will do for that small of a budget. I will not shoot music videos anymore without the Mini 35. And that thing is not cheap to rent. Basically because when I rent it I go crazy with lenses.

Is that why you didn't hold on the singer's face more when he was doing some intense screaming?

Very nice. A little bit to many fast cuts for my taste, but it sure looks professional as hell. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this on MTV.

regards,
Oli
