Metal Hot Shoe Extender bar?

I have a shoulder rig for use with my Nikon D7000. I currently have a Bracket1 SLR bracket and their Over the Camera bracket which holds my Zoom H4N and Senheisser Wireless. The hot shoe on the camera holds my LED light. I am now considering adding a 7 inch monitor to the mix and need a place to mount it. I did a search for hot shoe extenders but only found the Rycote version and its made out of plastic. Are there any that are made out of metal instead? I am thinking of getting an articulating arm for the monitor and mount to the hot shoe extender bar if there is one made in metal.

Be cautious about loading your DSLR hot shoe like that. It's not as robust a connection as you think, made to support flash modules and not much more. You may end up bending or breaking it.

Instead, I'd suggest getting a Noga Arm or similar, along with a MicroMount (do not waste your money on the CoolLCD version of the mount). This will mount your LCD monitor to on of the rods on your shoulder rig and allow for adjustable position.

Personally i find Berkey System's blocks to be more versatile and of better build quality than the red rock micro ones, plus they're half the price: http://www.berkeysystem.com/store/15-mm-series/accessory-mounting-blocks/

I totally agree with Alex H. about the noga arm, and if you can do actually get a noga cine arm like this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/571950-REG/Noga_DG1108CA_DG1108CA_Cinematic_Arm.html
They're awesome, basically. Really, really well built and reliable. I have had two red rock micro arms fail on me, one during a shoot sending my dp4 to the floor. Not nice. Don't spend $50 hanging your $1000 monitor off the ground.
