Metafile user names

Hello there.
I added an user name into a SD card using P2 Viewer and uploaded it to my HPX-500 following the article (http://dvxuser.com/jason/P2-Name-article/ ). I see my new user name info in the camera by going to clips properties, but when logging it in FC 6 using LOG AND TRANSFER, it does not show up, only the original (GLOBAL) names.
Im I missing something?

Thank you in advance.

As far as I know, FCP does not support metadata, and there is no way to access the User Clip Name information within FCP.

I use Raylight which allows me to work (semi) directly with MXF files, and one option is to have it preface the file aliases with the User Clip Name, so in FCP you have files named something like USERNAME-GLOBALNAME.MXF which I like because I'm able to sort and reference by the user names we set for each project, but I can also see at a glance the true global/file name for that clip.

Thank you so much for the info Adam.
I guess it is a limitation of FC!
Thx again.

Yeh, I'm helping a guy in a large company with his first time in FCP. P2 cards with different external harddrives are a little messy with MetaData, even with Raylight. Frankly, I use GrassValley Edius. MUCH better editor with P2 cards with full MetaData support, and NO rendering. I'm glad I made the switch.
