***PRICE DROP*** NOW $325
Optics excellent, wear on mounts as you can see in pics. $350 includes insured shipping UPS or FedEx and Paypal fees in the US. If you are not satisfied, return in same condition within 7 days of receipt at your expense and I'll issue a refund. Willing to sell outside the US, but you pay for extra shipping and no returns.
Now for my wordy description:
This was one of the first sold. It has the first type aperture ring numbered "F" to "8" HOWEVER, this one has a different cam, so the change in aperture is linear - not fast in the beginning and slow later. Metabones sent me the cam after I complained that the aperture change was too rapid in the beginning. The replacement cam I received was probably a prototype, because they eventually decided to change the design of the cam mechanism completely. In any case, this has the same linear change of aperture as the current models. Also, as with the current models, you need to take the numbered markings as approximations. Slight differences in lens tolerances, mount tolerances and slippage and light transmission (T vs f stop) will make noticeable differences in exposure.
I declicked my aperture ring by removing the balls and springs. I then lubed with a high-viscosity silicone grease made for use on lens mechanical parts. The ring is now nicely damped, with about the same resistance as a Zeiss ZF focus ring, i.e. stiffer than most old manual focus Nikkors. Balls, springs and tools are included as pictured. If you want it clicked, let me know and I'll replace the balls and springs.
I requested an assortment of mount springs from Metabones and tried different ones in the Nikon mount so now all my F-mount lenses from four different manufacturers are snug.
The MFT mount is also nice and snug on my Pocket.
Comes with an Olympus MFT Cap, which fits much better than the MB-supplied one.
The last pic shows a modification I tried on the Arca foot. My Pocket (and from other reports, I think all of them) has a mount that stops the lens from rotating about 1° off. This is never a problem, except if you try to use the included foot to mount in a Arca clamp. Then, with the foot level, the camera is skewed about 1° I tried to compensate by filing the locating pegs on the foot, then tightening the mounting screws. That didn't work, but also does not affect the functionality of the foot one bit. I could have just hidden that fact, but I don't believe in those kind of surprises. I did eventually find a solution that allows properly aligned mounting in an Arca clamp, but that's another story.
Glad to answer any questions. I have 100% positive feedback on eBay as bufo1955 and 100% positive feedback on Fred Miranda as skwake. Selling because I have the Pocket-specific SB and I'm currently selling a lot of gear I have no plans for. I'm active in the BMCuser forum as Steve Wake. Thought I would post this ad here because I thought there would be more interest from GHx and AF100 users.
