messing with cc

Some of the settings look interesting and make you want to watch more ... others seem to project little impact.

To understand your settings better, say a little more about this CC dvd and how you achieved each CC look. Were these done in FCP and what kinds of tweaking did you do to get your final look?
 
The only one that I liked was the 5th one you did. The others I really just dont see myself using it for anything I can think of. The 5th one reminded me of the wonder years show a litle bit. LOL, remember that show? Well anyway, how did you get that 5th Color Setup and what NLE or program period, did you use?
 
thanks guys, i used fcp5. for the 5th one i brought the blacks down allot and desaturated a bit. i applied a oval shape mask to the clip, and then a mask feather to give it the vignetting (sp?) look. in the whites i added a bit of yellow i believe, same for the mids, if i remember correctly i brought the mids up faily high. i think it comes off best on the indoor shoot lit by flourescent lights and the gain on the camera up a bit. the cc brings out the grain and i think it looks pretty cool.

Yeah color-correcting is neat. I might post a video where I do 97 different color correction variations and by the end you'll be convinced I'm just writing this so I'll have more posts.

The color correcting by the fridge reminded me of Harmony Korine's obscene cinematic masturbation pieces. That is a compliment by they way... heh
