What would happen if you bought ad space on a billboard on some busy highway:

Honey, Will you marry me?

How many guys would feel obligated to pop the question when she sees it and gets all excited?

:)

Not sure I follow...If I bought the ad space I would want her to get all excited so I would want to pop the question, no?

Though, it'd be hard to get down on bended knee while driving on a busy highway:laugh:.

He's talking about using a generic message, which means every guy being pressured to pop the question will be afraid his GF will think that he posted the billboard.

Personally, I'd like to do one with a creepy old guy and the headline "I'm watchin' you!" or "You kids git outta my yard!"

But I'm weird.

I always thought it would be fun to post signs that said "Lost Squirrel-BIG Reward" Then put someone else's phone number.

Or how about a giant cow with a howdy-doody type boy's head instead of a cow's head, hooves standing on top of crushed cars in the middle of a desert and he is shouting "Buy more adhesive tape!"

And then put a website address: www dot cowsdon'tsurf dot com

And if you remember it, you go home and type it into your browser and when the site comes up... it's a photograph of the billboard. But the head is now missing from the cow.

yes of course. im an idiot.

Well, why not go all the way and use actual names? "Jen. I love you. Will you Marry me? -your cuddle cakes". I recognize that might only apply to less than 1% of the population but for that less than 1%....madcap hilarity will ensue.

If I had stupid amounts of money to spend on billboards, I would just put up a series of these

That is too funny... I like the way you think General :)

There was an Apartment complex opening up around here, and they used the billboard in a new way. They started with a plain billboard as a guy looking for a girl he had met, presumably at an open house. Next week, the billboard changed, and it was a reply from that girl. Blahblahblah, yadayadayada, they eventually get married and move in to those apartments.

I believe Maxwell house coffee had a series of tv commercials that did the same thing.
