Merlin settings for HMC40

couldn't find if this had been posted before, but does anyone have the merlin settings for the HMC40 Having a hard time getting it balanced correctly

I was looking for the exact same thing.
Did you ever get it set up right?
Do you have the settings?
 
Actually JT_Productions you might, I have the same microphone!
Could you tell me what settings you use?
 
I use 1 finish weight and 1 middle weight on the upper spar, and 1 start weight, 3 middle weights and 1 finish weight on the lower spar. The hole for the dovetail plate is H, and it is mounted around -1 3/4 on the stage.
 
Hey, I've actually been using something similar for the last few days

Mounting hole H
about= -.75 on the mounting plate
front = 1 start
bottom = 1 start 3 mid 1 finish
arc fully extended

...but I've found I've had to trim really far forward and that the balance is quite delicate a sharp move here and there can cause a bit of sway...

Anyway, I'll try your settings and see how I get on.

Oh, by the way do you mount the rode microphone straight onto the camera or on top of the handle thing that sits on top of the camera?

Your problems may be caused by the fact that your arc is fully open. I like to keep my arc at around 12.5"
Also, I mount my mic on the handle itself. Good luck!
 
Cool JT... I'll try that over the weekend... fingers crossed...

Oh and also, do you use the g-platz (black screw)? and what settings on the merlins handle do you use?

No, I don't use the black screw since it's mainly for larger cameras. What do you mean by the settings on the merlin's handle?
