Merlin quickie....

Is the new Steadicam Merlin able to take the more weighty camera as standard or do you buy the normal package then pay for an upgrade to the new gimble?
Cheers

When you buy the "package" with the vest it will come with the beefier gimble. If you just want to buy the Merlin by itself I can't say for sure but it would seem odd if you couldn't just buy it with the new gimble.

I can't wait to find out by seeing them available!!!

Good question.
Call Tiffen directly and ask for this.

If they don't offer it directly with the metal gimble, they should.

Yup, I just want the Merlin NOT the vest..... the problem is that here in the UK the basic cost of the Merlin is equivelent to about $1300 which is way too much! If I had to replace the gimble in addition.... well!
