merging many clips into one

is there a way that i can import (from the bpav folder) or merge ex1 clips without spending too much time. i wish there was an option to combine clips into one long clip, or merge the clips without waiting for it to reprocess, etc

any ideas?
 
The first option I can think of is exporting to MXF. When you do this it combines all split clips into a single MXF file. Of course to support this you need a NTFS partition (or Mac equivalent) as you're going to bust FAT32's 4GB file size limit.

If you want to combine clips from different takes together, you've got me stumped outside of using an NLE.
