menu navigation using S&Q knob

I thought I remembered there was a way to use the S&Q Motion knob when navigating menus but can't figure out how. Or was that just a firmware request that never got fufilled?
 
Press Cancel+S&Q buttons simultaneously. Setting only holds until you power down the camera. One of my firmware requests was the ability to toggle and remember seting. We'll see soon enough if it makes firmware 1.5
