[FS: General] Menbo Vest and Arm

Menbo vest and arm. The arm has been modified with springs that support an HMC 150 on a Glidecam or similar stabilizer NOT THE FLOW POD. I may have the original springs which I think were for a ten kilo ikegami . If I can find them you can have them too.... The vest has a couple of scratches, as does the arm. A quick look at Ebay will let you know what the arm and vest sells for (check completed items not the asking price) I am open to reasonable offers on this as well. I bought it to shoot one wedding that was part of a longer project. I modified it, rented the Glidecam sled, confirmed that stabilizer work was best left to young guys like Mikko Wilson, but got through the wedding rehearsal session and managed to get 10 minutes of usable footage on the day of the wedding. Whew!
Asking $350.00 + shipping. Photos are poor but if you are interested I will shoot them with more than my iPhone camera.

Thanks all for your interest and messages about the vest and arm. As you can see from my post I am not an expert by any means. I would strongly suggest that you visit HSB. "Home Built Stabilizers" is a group like DVXUser and you will find a variety of info on all sorts including the Menbo. The world of vests and arms is an expensive specialized field and this one is far from being a Tiffen Steadicam. It was however significantly better than the vest arm combinations I rented and tried for my FloPod, like the DV Sportster and I also tried the single arm Indian version. I ended up renting a Glidecam sled to use with it. They were more of a pain than a use. If you are in good shape, tune this one properly if will work well for you as it did for me. So it is not that I want to not sell it but I want to be totally upfront and honest. The info above is what I know and there are others with much more to say. I should also warn you that when I was looking for a vest/arm combo there was significant negative response from the Garret Brown Steadicam Clique as I call them. Not everybody has $15k+++++ for a stabilizer. As for will this support my camera, 35mm adpter, mattebox and monitor? Well I am sure the arm will but I doubt the vest will without modifications but if someone knows better please speak your piece. I have been a member here for a long time and don't want to mislead anyone but I do want to sell the vest and arm so that is why it is up for sale for a fair price.
Thanks
Brian
Cheers
Brian

FYI-NOT FOR Sale.
You don't want this vest and arm. It is fine if you are one of the HBS group and want to mess around with it but I would not sell it to you otherwise. If you were nearby,I would let you borrow it and you would understand. I have decided that in clear conscience I will not sell it and will just keep it for now. It is not fair to pass this on to someone who would use it for work without significant modifications.
Just have to be honest so I will be taking it off the Marketplace. Because too many of the people who contacted me were looking for what I was looking for and that is a cheap and easy Steadi-Cam. This is not it. It works, it is not easy, it is cheap.

Hi there!

Hi there!

Hi, Brian.

I am interested in this item but question is if you still got it? and I live in Australia so, if you ship it out to AUS and how much shipping will be?

Also, do you take PayPal payment at all?

Thanks.

Please see my previous or the last post before yours. I have chosen not to sell the vest and explain why there. I think if you were to check out Miko Wilson's litany of posts on stabilizers you would learn why I can't in good fatih sell this vest nd arm to anyone but a home builder.
Best
Brian
