GH5 Memory Card requirements for ALL-I 1080p/24

While the GH5’s 4K ALL-I can produce a bitrate of up to 400Mbps, the 1080p All-I only ever goes as high as 200Mbps, so I wonder what the card requirements are for recording FHD ALL-I?

Would Sandisk’s 95MB/s U3 SDXC cards be sufficient?

Just updated the GH5’s firmware & ran a quick test of the 1080p/24 ALL-I.

Filmed a TV screen, & was able to record until the Sandisk Extreme Pro U3 64GB was completely full. Testing a U1 version of the same cards, & so far it seems to be working fine too.

Need to do proper test, & run the footage through post, but seems promising.

200Mbps is 25 MB/s. U3 rated SD cards are supposed to have a 30 MB/s minimum write speed, so pretty much any U3 cards should work (in principle).

U1 rated cards only have a 10 MB/s guaranteed minimum write speed, so not all U1 cards will necessarily work. The U3 speed class designation was introduced by the SD Association in November 2013: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...emory-cards-support-4k2k-video-230811591.html
But even at that time there were already SD cards available that were capable of write speeds considerably faster 10 MB/s, it's just that there was no standard way to designate them as such.

So some U1 cards may work, but it depends on the card.
