Memory card failures

Anyway, so far I had two card crashes on my HDC-SD1. One happened a year and a half ago, I was recording to A-Data card. When I hit Record, the camera displayed a message saying something about the card, don't remember what exactly. When I hit Record again, it would do something for several seconds, then record. It did so for several times, consecutively, so I pulled the card and replaced it with another one and kept recording with no more errors.

Another problem happened last week, I was shooting, the camera stopped while shooting and displayed message to press Reset button. Just like that, no reason, simply press the Reset button. I found a pen and pressed it. Then the camera said that the card is damaged, and it would be recovering. After the recover, I continued shooting on this card with no more errors. I recorded 10 more minutes and did not get any more errors. Besides the file that was truncated, I did not lose any other data. The card was Class 6 PQI 4GB.

I had a card fail on me. It was a Transcend 16GB Class 6 card. It showed no problems in the camera. i finished the shoot and went home to edit. It never mounted in the computer, and then never was heard from again. Panasonic took up my case, they investigated the card and said it was a gonner. I took it that i should buy better cards. SanDisk for me!
