Media Offline?! What the...?

Hey there!

I've got this problem that drives me absolutely CRAZY!

I use Premiere Pro CS3 on a mac (with Leopard). I render the whole sequence, save and quit.

The next time I open the same project, everything I rendered is not-renderen anymore, and worse: every
- sequence-in-sequence
- photoshop-file
- video that originanally was imported without attached audio
is said to be offline ('Media Offline').

But is isn't!
When I select the offline clips, disable them, then enable them: they work fine again! Same story when I trim the clip.

When I save the project, quit and open it again: everything starts all over again!

Re-install doesn't work.

What can I do to solve this? Does anyone know the problem?

Especially with longer projects, it's horrible!:(

hahah i have the same problem its easy fix...well u know..temp fix...

Originaly when it happend i just linked the footage back to where it was originaly and same thing happend. When i rebooted it was stil lmissing..so then i just copied the files to another folder and linked the missing footage to the new folder etc. THat worked but hten after a few reboots it did the same thing. So now i just link it to whatever..its a pain in the asssss but it works. Im using pro 2.0 btw. It is a super annoying bug but @ least the footage is not missing.

pain?! TORTURE!

So there's no real solition?

Do you work on leopard / mac too?

I hope Adobe comes with an update QUICK!

does it happen in ALL your projects, or just in a few?

i'm on a pc as well, i should have mentioned that.

Nope it doesnt happen in all projects so far i've had it happend 2ice in to unralted projects. Its a strange bug, i'm not sure what causes it. bUt yah the fix is easy just takes a few seconds to do(follow the fix i put up).

i've even checked out the adobe forums while back and no one had any ideas.

I dropped the question on the adobe forums either. Lots of tips, however: not (YET, I hope...)a solution.

But I don't understand what you wrote, saturnin: you tried some things, which didn't work. So then you did this: "So now i just link it to whatever".
What you mean? Do you put it in a new folder, relink it, and repeat this every time **** happens? r do you mean you just link it to no matter what (I don't see how this woul work...)?

I noticed that this is my first project in my current setting (Mac + adobe CS3) where the film is longer than, say, 10 minutes (before this, I used APP 1.5). Does it happen, by chance, only in longer projects?

The worst about it is that me neither can the 'source' of the problem. What causes it?
