"Media needs to be restored" but isn't giving me the option

I was shooting with SDHC adapter and flash drives with the EX1. It happens quite often that while using these cards, I get a message that media needs to be restored and I do this by clicking "restore now" where it prompts me. After that, I just turn off the camera, turn it back on, and then everything is fine.

This last time I received the message, it came on without any "restore now" type buttons to press. I've tried turning the camera off, putting the flash card into another SDHC adapter, and putting the card directly into a flash card reader but nothing works. Any ideas?
 
I've had the exact same experience many times but power cycling the camera has always resolved it without fail. These are the types of problems that annoyed me so much that I went back to shooting exclusively with the SxS cards and then transferring the data to SDHC cards afterwards.

it could be something called bad sectors. Your sdhc card is divided up into lots of sections and if one of those sections is faulty then you may loose everything on the card. Sometimes when putting the card in a computer it is able to remap around the bad sectors. How ever it is my experience with sdhc cards that i would have to write the footage off. consider this a warning from your camera to tell you to het better sdhc cards. You have saved al lot of money by going sdhc but don't try to get cheap sdhc use professional sdhc cards. Good luck
