Does AMC v5 actually now support pull-down at the file level for a 1080 24PA project? If so, that would be very good news for much of the P2 footage from my Panasonic HPX170. :)
 
Good question. Put that on the Avid forum and see what they have to say. I don't have that issue with my camera, so I won't be able to test it.
 
Yes, this may be the version that brings me back to AVID. Since it's five times the price of Edius, it's been hard to justify it it till now.
 
I used to use FCP exclusively. But based on the information I've read about the upcoming Avid, I am definitely going to make a switch. The idea of having a PC/MAC software is just too tempting. I will still use FCP products as needed, but it's time to learn Avid.

I think a LOT of people are coming to the same conclusion. It's probably out of reach for most home tinkerers, but for pros, the pricing is really starting to make sense. For students, the $295 price is just insane.
