Measuring rolling shutter: put a number on this issue!

that's quite an understatement.

Looks absolutely horrendous. Worse than any camera I've ever seen. honestly.

Way better than some a6300 videos I have seen. Also you can put it into sport mode which significantly reduces rolling shutter at the cost of some DR.

I suppose that readout speed for 2K crop is something I noticed, but thought I was crazy, and goes a long way to figuring why I love the hell out of 2K mode on the camera so much.

Was almost going to dedicate it to shooting 2K straight-RAW or XQ... now, I'm officially going to buy some S16 glass.

Thanks! I can't take measurements from that because it's handheld, but it does look pretty bad. Like the a6300, as they say in the video.

GX85 added: 28.9 ms in 4k (much slower than GH4; not good but still better than most current Sonys) and 15.4 ms in 1080p (so, great backup that I would s*%tch to for those few shots that have a lot of motion and won't be detailed anyway because of blur)

The problem with the NX500 is that it had a huge crop, at least at launch. Apart fromthat, it was a really nice little camera. Let us know how you like it :)

That's the thing, the 2.5K mode is not cropped, so if it's a 180 mbps 2.5K Super35 image with a 8ms rolling shutter that image would be a dream.

That sounds great indeed. It's such a pity that Samsung let the NX line die. Letting it open for hackers to add all kinds of features would have cost them very little and would have made them a very strong contender in lots of niche markets.
