MDFilms 2005 Demo Reel

kept trying to open real player..... couldn't see it... sorry man

hey in your NC video short, what's the name of that song and artist at the end? I can never remember that! lol

Thank you, very much.

The song is "Bitterwweet Symphony" by The Verve.

Thanks again for your time.

beautifully done.. Bravo... Liked the mix up of concerts, films and nature shots to show your range... how'd ya do the graphics?

Not much too say, except that its very good! I'm jealous you got a shot of the space shuttle. I need one so bad. I was there at the last launch working on a reality tv show on a cruise ship, all I needed was a big telephoto...

Presentation is excellent and professional.

However, if your work is lacking anything, it is cohesion in your approach to crafting sequences. You have an excellent eye for composition, but I think your work needs more direction and planning. Even the fairly narrative pieces like She - Failure, appear to have been composited as a random montage. In some way or another, for whatever purpose, I believe that each shot should lead logically into the next, unless it is a demo reel. And it appears that the same editing approach you used for your demo reel, was used for alot of your work. Frankly, i think the demo reel is more enjoyable than the pieces it is showcasing.

While many of your shots are beautiful, unless they come together as a cohesive whole, it means little, a concept stretched very thin.

I only speak of this because your videos look alot like my own, until I realized that they were lacking content. I think when you can present a more solid sequenced based work, you will be doing great.
Other wise, it looks really really good. I was most impressed by the graphics and the implementation of your website. With a presentation like yours I am sure you will find continued success.
Good luck.

I really liked the way your demo was cut. Pretty images plus good editing equals good demo, at least i think so.

Thanks for all the comments. I will be posting more things soon.

Let me know if there is anything else you think.

Thank you for your time.

Hey, nice demo. You sure know your way around flash (on your website)! I really liked that intro/logo you made. Oh, and I noticed you used a Motion template at the end to make the mdfilm.net ripple thing. Good job!
