MC 6 better w/BMD or Matrox for HDMI out

Anybody using the BMD Intensity Extreme HDMI capture/playback thunderbolt device? I am switching my home edit system to Avid MC 6 on a new MPB. I have a Matrox MXO2 mini and have used it with FCP6. It costs $200 to get the thunderbolt adapter for the MXO2 Mini and it does not seem worth it. So I ma thinking of selling it and getting the BMD Intensity Expreme.

Thoughts or info to share?

Thanks,
John

I'm loving MC6 with my Blackmagic UltraStudio SDI... works very well except for the irritatingly-loud fan in the unit!

Hopefully they're not using the same fan in the Intensity Extreme...

That said, the bonus of getting to run Resolve on it makes everything worth it!

I can tell you for a fact that mxo2 mini with MC 6.01 is a turd. Matrox needs to come out with new drivers for it, there is a huge string of discussion of it on the avid forums, http://community.avid.com/forums/p/103230/623567.aspx#623567
11+ pages. The other thing I could suggest is that NAB is right around the corner and Avid has announced they will be making a number of announcements...I'd wait!

Thanks. Will be able to wait as editing is just starting. I know there are announcements and then months until products come out (most of the time). Want a new Macbook Pro with thunderbolt and don't feel like spending $200 to upgrade the Matrox to thunderbolt. Looking forward to moving back to Avid for the home system.
