MC 3.0 won't import AVI

Hey Guys,
A quick question for you, I'm trying to import an AVI file encoded with the H.264 codec into media composer 3.0, and when it finishes processing the file, i get nothing but white video. no audio, just white.

I have the latest quicktime, and windows media 11, and have never run into this problem before...

Any ideas on this one?

did you turn off the alpha channel?
you can also re-render a quicktime in AE to limit your Avid import woes.

If you have Quicktime pro or other encoding software, you need to convert to a Quicktime format (try DVCPRO 50 or uncompressed) Avid is not an MPEG fan.
