GH2 maybe 25p comeing

Ha ha...I like this quote:

Regarding the Panasonic Lumix GH2 Firmware Hacking: A firmware update may be coming for the GH2 to add support for 25p, and additional improvements in video abilities. If there are features you want adding, contact Panasonic and let them know. They are aware of the work the "hackers" are doing and are impressed with their work, but that they (Panasonic) need to test everything / confirm there are no problems before rolling out updates. He also said that the GH3 is not due imminently, as the GH2 is still extremely popular, but that there is a high end GF series camera in the works.

You know what that means.... It could be a potential HACK blocker like they did on the last batch of GH-1's.?

I think we should all contact Panasonic for peaking and C-AF :)

Vitality has said that it's not possible for them to block the hack. I believe him since he just recently unblocked the GH1, should be easy to do it again with the GH2 if need be.

Anyways, good news on 25p, not that it matters for us in NA. But I don't like how he said "may" add support...

I think just posting here, I heard before that Panasonic's people watch this Website more often than people think. I could be wrong, but I don't think they can keep up with all the e-mails they receive daily. My 0.2 cents

The hack was blocked in the 1.34 version of GH1 because they never publically released that firmware, it was a firmware version that came preinstalled, so Vitaly didn't have a copy of the firmware to modify.

Of course even if that was the case, it wouldn't matter now that Vitaly can read the firmware directly off the cameras eeproms

30p and 60p in AVCHD 2.0? Seems like the obvious request considering that we know the GH2 sensor already outputs 60p and that the new AVCHD 2.0 standard was just released supporting 60p. I'm not positive, but it's at least conceivable that AVCHD 2.0, 60p, and 30p could all be added without any hardware changes required.
