Hey Taylor,
i know this is an old thread and you most likely have already found what you are looking for but, here is a link that will get you to some scene files that have different dynamic ranges.

the dynamic range on the hvx200 is about 9 or 10 stops if you are lucky. i never was able to get more then that out of the HVXs i owned. if you really try to push it, you will introduce a lot of unneeded video noise

Use the CINE-D gamma, that's the flattest gamma curve.
