Max xlr cable length from powered mixer?

[Ian Slessor]

Hey all,

Here's a question for you.

I want to run an xlr cable from a sound board to my DVX for nice clean audio instead of room sound.

What's the maximum length I should use?

I shouldn't think I'd need to ever run more than 100 feet.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

XLRs and balanced cable - farther than you will probably ever need - hundred METRES no problem (never mind feet). On OBs, audio cables run to OB trucks over much larger distances!
