Max Payne starring Mrak Walhberg

Could easily suck, but I loved the trailer and the game was pretty cool. I used to enjoy it very much before I had children and could never play it again. I think MW was a good choice.

It's several years old, and PC. Not sure if it was ported to any consoles.

And I'm with Mr. Hudson--cool game, but no need for a film.

I played this on playstation2 when the console was brand new. He is basically a guy that comes home to find a bunch of junkies high on drugs after they attack him he goes upstairs to find they have brutally murdered his wife and newborn son. He spends the next few years of his life as an undercover cop fighting against drugs and what not, but that night his life fell to pieces haunts him in his nightmares. It was nothing short of a great game, and to be honest if it is done right it could make a fantastic movie as well...but probably not ;)

It one of those games that was made like a movie... So if done right could be cool. but could be worst. looks better than Resident Evil.... Man they messed that series up.

LOVED that game...which reminds me... I should go through it again...it's been at least 5 years now!

Movie looks a lot like the game. Looks like it could be good.

In the game, anyway, they're not "crack" heads... they're on a new designer drug called Valkyr, which turns out to be... well, I won't spoil the game or (presumably, if it follows anything like the game's story--which of course it probably won't, but just in case) the movie, but... let's just say it's a plot point. ;)

Mark Wahlberg has a good tough guy look and attitude, but suffers from the Mike Tyson-esque delivery of lines. IMHO.

I noticed he only gave the trailer a brief intro v.o. and after that, you dont hear him speak.

Finally got around to watching this film. They did a great job of capturing the visual style from the game, but I feel that they didn't go far enough... Things like "bullet-time" should have been introduced early on, and I would have had Max narrate portions of it to help hold the story together. ( though I don't know if Mark W would be a good choice for narration ) Overall it feels like this film goes about 2/3 of the way to being a good film. The producers really should have tried to push the boundaries more. ( like Sin City did )

no they did not I think I believe Clive Omen, see what I did there, could have done or do a better job :)

Yes, Clive Owen would have looked more like the game character, though again I don't know if he could pull off the narration.

Actually, I do think they did a good job of capturing the look of the game, that high-contrast edge-lighting against a very gray background, along with the endless snow that floats continuously, but I think that the signature bullet-time should have been there from the start, and they should have tried to incorporate the graphic-novel cut-scene style from the game.
