Glad it works for you!

If you tell me when you put this stuff on your dvx (what conditions) and why it is worth having one (when it is a must etc) I will call them and get one too ;D

I understand that it is useful when shooting outdoors so the sun doesnt enter the lens right?

Re: matttebox for 180$

A mattebox serves two primary purposes: to block unwanted light from entering the lens, and to mount filters.

A mattebox doesn't have to be limited to outdoors use, it's just as useful (or perhaps more so) in studio conditions. Outdoors you usually only have one source of light that you have to work around/block, etc. But in a studio situation you may have light sources all over the place that would need to be flagged off. So a large mattebox with large flags can help control light and keep "unwanted" light from hitting the lens and causing flaring.

As for filters, most matteboxes allow you to use professional filters too, square or rectangular filters like 3x3's, 3x4's, 4x4's, and 4x5.65's. The MatteBlox does have the ability to let you use some 4x4 filters, but in a limited way. Other matteboxes have stationary and/or rotating filter holders that give you more options.
